MOUNTING:
To improve the strength of the mounting system,
we use extra angle-forms that bolt through the lower
frame-rail flange. These forms fasten with four
9/16" grade 8 bolts; rest assured, they are
securely attached to the frame. The bumper mount
plates have four holes; two of these attaching at
the stock point, the other two anchoring the bumper
to the lower frame-rail angle-forms. Also included
are provisions for retaining the stock Ford backup
sensors (if so equipped) in (close to) stock locations.
Although it is usually necessary to remove the stock
trailer hitch, we've integrated a 2" receiver
into the double-drawbar which, although not officially
rated, has proven to be more than a match for anything
the Super Duty is rated for. And like the stock
hitch, the bumper's mounting struts extend far forward,
spreading the load up the frame rail
