The latest truck of the month is being prepared for the 2009 La Croisiere Blanche (The White Cruise) which covers 190 miles of the southern French Alps over some of the toughest off road alpine terrain in the depths of winter.
Mike Metcalfe is the vehicles owner and driver but its his good friend Kevin Cochrane, the co-pilot, navigator, and photographer that has turned this trip into something extra special.
Kevin is currently fighting against cancer and he has recently completed a gruelling 10 sessions of Chemotherapy as part of his treatment. They have both decided to step outside their comfort zone and take on this challenge as a way of putting something back into the research programme to help rid this world from this horrendous disease.
Mike and Kevin are doing the event for charity under the banner 'Alpine Offroad Challenge 2009' and are hoping to raise over £3000 for Cancer Research UK. If you would like further details of their journey or would like to know how you can support them, you can contact Mike on 07771 834650
